As a musician or musicians in a band, it's easy to spend all of your time and energy in the music you are creating or trying to sharing it by playing night after night. But, what does that matter if you aren't getting the exposure you need to get your creative ideas to the listeners ears? This is what we call exposure and here are three tips on gaining it.
Quality Content - I already know what you're saying, "we already have content and we share it weekly via social media", but here's the thing. Content only serves its purpose if it's quality and relevant. Professional images of band practice or a live concert with a written update on the band goes a lot further than a blurry iPhone image and same message. Video also falls into this category as it's just as important and vital to the exposure of your band.
Consistent Content - This is closely related to the first tip as it is solely dependent on it. What good is consistent content if it isn't quality? Not very good at all! As an already established band or an upcoming one, these two first tips will set you apart from all the other bands and is a guaranteed way to gain exposure.
Not just some Guy/Gal with a camera - When it all boils down, finding the artist to create marketing images for your band is the most important element to this entire idea. Just as music has it's own sound, style and market, so does the content creator. He/she can effect how your band is perceived to the marketed listeners, and this can be a positive or negative thing. A tip is to allow someone who can see the vision of the band, and help produce and hone in the vision to gain band exposure.
