It seems like everyone and their mother knows someone in their friends list, contacts or family who is a "photographer" right? I bet you're asking where I'm going with this? Well, let's take a deeper look together and talk about what I'm going to call, The Ugly Truth.
Let's say you were looking for a photography quote for your wedding. Why is it that you can talk to one "photographer" and get a quote for $700 and talk to another photographer and get a quote for $7,000? The truth is, there is a large difference between a photographer who snaps photos, and an artist that has decided to merge both art and business into an entity that produces a products that warrants the difference in price.
When hiring a photographer, there are many factors to consider above a person that can operate a camera. Editing, preparation, capturing, creating all have to work in unity to produce the best possible product. One owes it to themselves to consider all factors, not just the bottom line most affordable option. If a photographer is offering you the best deal you have ever experienced, know that somehow somewhere, some way, you are forfeiting something.
