Let me start off by saying this is one of my favorite engagement sessions I've photographed to date. Both Luke and Liesl allowed for all the nerves and hesitance while being in front of a camera to fade away in just minutes after the shoot started and I believe it's easy to see that! When photographing a couple, I try and let them be who they are together and capture the moments in between. Yes, there will be posed shots, but the emotions of fun, happiness and more can be seen within the facial expressions of those in love.
We started the shoot easily by trying out a few poses and eventually moved into shots where I allowed them to just walk towards me, or maybe whisper something funny in the other's ear. Photography is more than settings on a camera, cute poses, and even light itself, and the camera is just a tool I use to capture what's already there so nothing looks or feels artificial.
