When Keyana and Jasper contacted me about booking their family portrait session, we decided to meet and talk through the details of the shoot as well as get to know each other a bit. The more we talked, the more I found out about their story.
Jasper was deployed and stationed in Afghanistan during their pregnancy and wasn't allowed to come home for Micahs' birth. In fact, if I remember correctly, he didn't meet his daughter in person until over a month after her birth.
I can't imagine the struggle of not only being away from your wife and new born, but to be away in one of the most dangerous places in world right now only makes things more difficult.
I think the title answers itself through these images. These are their first portraits all together as one whole family.
